Islamabad:
Zahir Jaffer, the man convicted of the murder of Noor Muqadam, has transferred to the Supreme Court for the review of the Court’s decision to maintain the death granted.
The request for review, presented through Khawaja Haris, declared that “the exaggeration created in social networks” constantly created hatred towards him during research and trial and even in the appeal stage, so he significantly breached his fundamental right to just judgment and due process.
The request for review establishes that the sentence of May 20 did not address the issue of lack of liquidation of the mind or the mental capacity of the petitioner that arose before this court.
“It is claimed that the supplication raised in the name of the petitioner is of great importance, both in regard to the validity of his judgment and the effects of determining the guilt of the petitioner and/or amount of prayer,” says the request.
“As such, leaving this indeterminate issue has seriously harmed the interests of justice and the rights of the petitioner guaranteed by the Constitution in terms of article 4, 9 and 10-A of the Constitution,” he continues.
“It is presented with respect, which has been influenced by a planned and sustained campaign launched on social networks, among other things, by the plaintiff, against the petitioner in particular and, as such, the judge of first instance never made any effort to consider the declaration of the petitioner within the framework.”
