The Central Committee of Ruet-E-Hilal has announced that the moon Zil Hajj was not sighted in the country, confirming that the first day of Zil Hajj will be observed on May 29, while Eidul Azha will be held on June 7.
The announcement was made by the president of the Ruet-E-Hilal committee, Mauula Abdul Khabeer Azad, who presided over a meeting in Islamabad on Tuesday.
When heading to a press conference, President Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad declared that credible testimonies of the moon sighting from any part of the country had not been received.

“It was decided with consensus that the first day of Zil Hajj will be May 29, Thursday, and Eidul Azha will be observed on June 7 and Saturday,” he said.
He also stressed that climatic conditions throughout the country had hindered the sighting efforts of the moon, with cloudy skies that prevailed in most areas.
The meeting was attended by members of the Central Committee Ruet-E-Hilal, together with representatives of Supparco and the Department of Meteorology, which were present to provide assistance.
In addition to the central meeting, the zonal committee meetings were also held in cities such as Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, Peshawar and other regions.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia confirmed on Friday, June 6, as the first day of Eidul Azha after the Zil Hajj Crescent was sighted on Tuesday with Hajj that will take place on Thursday, June 5.
The moon sighting committees worldwide and other Muslim majority countries observed the growing moon of Zil Hajj, the 12th and last month of the Islamic lunar calendar, on Tuesday, May 27.
The kingdom announced that the Zil Hajj Crescent had been sighted, confirming that next Friday, June 6 will mark the first day of Eidul Azha. The United Arab Emirates also announced the sighting of the Moon, declaring that Eidul Zdha will be observed on Friday, June 6.
