- Zotac has turned on a scheme through his US discord channel.
- The active members of the community can enter a raffle to gain the opportunity to buy an RTX 5090 or 5080
- It seems that this plan is helping in the good fight to overcome students.
The fight for new Nvidia graphics cards has been an unpleasant matter (once again), especially with RTX 5090, since the stock of the flagship has been even more scarce than the RTX 5080, but Zotac has a plan for Help genuine buyers (as opposed to Pamos) in the United States.
Videocardz reports that Zotac Discord channel in the United States is executing a “priority access campaign exclusively for our loyal community to offer active members the opportunity to buy an RTX 5090 or 5080 graphics card.
It is a rifa system, with the opportunity to buy as a prize, and there are some attached conditions, as expected. In particular, a clause that any discord member must have actively participated in discussions, challenges and the like, to be eligible. Any person who joins some three -words messages with the hope of obtaining a purchase will not be considered (or should not).
Any type of “manipulation” or “trap” will not be tolerated either, says Zotac. In addition, the Board manufacturer will monitor the activity of reselling, with a serial number of GPU that are being registered, and a threat of publicly exposing any climber that bursts its graphics card.
Analysis: Zotac shows the way
How Zotac could monitor the entire playing field for the resellers is not clear, and it is probably not feasible, but still, I have to admire the position taken here against the resellers and bots.
These nefarious characters make any low existence hardware launch much more a nightmare of what it should be, so efforts such as the Zotac scheme have invented here must be applauded.
Do you ask how the Zotac Plan has developed so far? According to Reddit’s thread that Videcardz collected this development, Zotac’s Discord channel has witnessed an avalanche of people who registered from the announcement.
Therefore, it will certainly drive more traffic for the channel, clearly, but everything that a new member does is spam garbage, they must be eliminated and not be eligible for Blackwell’s purchase raffles.
Those who were active members before the announcement apparently obtained a private channel with separate raffles to the main ones, with much greater possibilities of winning (as 25%, compared to less than 1% for the main sortgos, they tell us take that with something with something of seasoning).
Everything sounds well organized enough, in summary.
Why not all graphics card manufacturers follow this route? Well, as Videcardz points out, Zotac is one of the smallest attire of the largest manufacturers (if you get what I mean), and it is probably much more headache for some of the largest operations in the sphere of the GPU for execute a scheme such as this.
Even so, it is worth shitting the defenses against chill more widely when it comes to popular releases, such as the RTX 5000 GPUs, it is worth thinking more, both for retailers and for the partners of the Board of Nvidia equally. Unfortunately, what we have seen elsewhere are the official allocation prices of graphics card manufacturers that are dragged, or even jumping, as a reaction to the thin supply before a great demand, so what would be a beginning is Do not do this, please.
We are trying to help the best we can, through our guides on where to buy an RTX 5080 today and also our RTX 5090 card search engine too. Good luck, GPU hunters, but, of course, if you are already in Zotac discord, you must get into the lottery there.
