- Windows 11 has just obtained a new compilation test on the prior view channel
- Comes with a good part of the characteristics of AI, but only one that I really want
- That is the AI in configuration, which is being implemented for more people, but unfortunately, I will not get this, since it is only for co -pilot+ PCs
Windows 11 has just obtained a new previous version, and there is enough work here, including a new home page for recovery capacity and a broader implementation of the AI agent in the configuration application.
This is Build’s preview 26100.506.1, which has been presented to the testers in the previous launching channel, and as it could assume, a large part of the new presentations in the IA front are only for co -pilot+ PCs.
One of the most important movements is that the AI agent in the configuration, which functions as a natural language search to find the options that you want easily, is now being implemented in co -drivers+ laptops with AMD and Intel processors.
Previously, this ability was only available to co -pilot+ PC with CPU Snapdragon X (ARM), but now it works with all these devices (although the function still works when its main language is configured in English in Windows 11). Unfortunately, I do not have a Copilot+device, so I am more than a little jealous, since I feel that this is a characteristic of AI that is worth having, and those are a rarity.
Speaking of that, still in the territory of Copilot+ PCs, the recovery function, for those who have ignited it, and that will not be all, although it is a central pillar of Microsoft’s Drive with AI, now it has a new home page that is based on its recent activity.
Therefore, this appears on its most used applications and websites, and will also present the latest snapshots taken so that you can quickly return to the tasks in which you participated previously (assuming you have snapshots that are stored in recovery, of course). Essentially, it is a useful and personalized shortcut to return to what I was doing in a faster way.
Along with this, click to do (suggestions sensitive to context with AI) now comes with a short tutorial (apparently an interactive one). This shows how it works to offer shortcuts with images or text, a useful touch for those new in the idea.
All this is for co -pilot+ PCs, but there are some additions of fresh ones that reach all Windows 11 systems. That includes AI actions in the file explorer, which are shortcuts in a similar line to click to click, according to the editing of images or summarize documents.
With images (JPG and PNG formats) in the file explorer, which is the application that shows the folders on your desk, there are now four AI -related actions. That includes a visual search (web image search) and the ability to erase objects, which is the elimination of objects with AI in the photos application, in addition to the fact that there is also the self -explanatory blur background option in that application. In addition to that, eliminating the background will do exactly that with an image in the paint application.
However, in the case of summarizing documents, this functionality is restricted: it needs a Microsoft 365 subscription to benefit from the actions of here.
Far from AI, there are enough other changes with this new previous view of compilation and a large number of minor settings throughout the place: see the extensive publication of Microsoft blog to obtain all the details.
Other ingenious changes that are worth mentioning include Windows 11 users outside Europe that obtain the ability to completely customize which widgets appear on the blocking screen (previously this was exclusive to the European economic area).
Windows Hello, the safe login system, now has a renewed interface, and an error where facial recognition failed (in addition to the digital fingerprint logs now works better after the PC wakes up to sleep).
Analysis: The importance of being artificially intelligent
The agent to change the Windows 11 configuration is one of the most useful applications for the AI that I have seen introduced by Microsoft, so, although it is good to see that it reaches co -pilot+ PC that does not have an ARM processor, I am still jealous that I am losing myself. Yes, I understand, you need that powerful NPU to work, but still, it is not great not to receive one of the concepts of genuinely laudable Microsoft has in boiling.
In any case, as this is the preview channel, this means that the AI agent must press the finished version of Windows 11 soon enough for those with the necessary hardware.
The rest of us can feel that we are missing, or maybe not even care about this, or the other steps Microsoft has taken here. Okay, it is not that there is nothing more for the normal machines (no people+) of Windows 11 in this preview, but a fair part of the main movements had to do with AI.
And it is likely that the focus on the characteristics of the here can cause some groans of many people, but despite that, and the relatively niche of the Copilot+devices, we can expect that much more of Microsoft to push this type of technology.
The recent visions of the future of Windows of a couple of Microsoft executives have underlined the importance of AI (as well as the cloud and voice commands for the entrance), so it is clear that this is a route that Microsoft is being forged even more vigor in the coming years. In summary: you better get used to this.
