He added that Pakistan was the 100th country with which the federated states of micronsia had established diplomatic relations.

He thanked Pakistan for his support in the opening of the United Nations Micronesia offices, said he hoped to work closely with his Pakistani counterpart to strengthen the friendship bond, and transmitted his congratulations on Pakistan’s independence day.
Before the firm, the two ambassadors held a brief meeting to discuss matters of mutual interest, including possible areas of cooperation both bilaterally and in the United Nations.
The covenant is modest in material terms but notable diplomatically, expands the network of formal partners of Pakistan in the Pacific and creates a direct channel to discuss climate adaptation, human resources exchanges and the cooperation in UN processes where small blocks of small states can be influential.
For micronsia, formal relationships with Pakistan add another diplomatic couple that can amplify their priorities in oceans and climate in multilateral environments. The formal update of the ties provides Islamabad with a direct diplomatic channel to a state of the Pacific Island at a time when global attention in the region has intensified.
