Hyderabad:
The unbridled tree cutting activity in the areas of the Dadu district river has caused a protest by the citizens who met in Dadu-Johi Road on Saturday to register their complaint. Lawyers, journalists, political activists and workers of non -governmental organizations participated in the demonstration.
The lawyer Muhammad Yaqoob Rustamani said that an unauthorized and unauthorized tree cutting activity is underway in Kaacho. “The mafia is cutting the wood without fear for monetary gains and worried government officials are showing silently.”
The protests alleged that more than 100 trees were cut from that area and transported by the city’s roads to different destinations.
The poet Khalil Soomro and other participants also blamed the police for not bothering to stop vehicles that transport trees from their district.
The protesters demanded that the government of Sindh not only stop that activity, but that the people involved in the illegal cut should also be taken to the book.
