Murder Season 2 is officially on the way, which is great news (and is not a surprise) given the success of season 1.
The first ten episodes, based on Martha Wells’s novels, saw Murderbot (Alexander Skarsgård) unlock their maximum potential and then establish a way to discover who it really is. Ah, while killing anyone or anything that tries to kill the team assigned to protect.
It is a super success for Apple TV+, scoring 96% of Rotten Tomatoes critics at the time of writing, and competing for a place in the best Apple TV+programs. And given the way in which season 1 is important, there is much more to explore, and many more novels from Wells to seek inspiration.
Here is everything we know so far Murder Season 2 of the prediction of the release date, the expected cast, the rumors of the plot and more.
Possible spoilers continue Murder Season 1.

TO Murder The launch date of season 2 is a little away, but considering that season 2 only wrapped on July 11. But, what we do know is that the science fiction comedy thriller has officially renewed.
Just one day before the epic end of season 1, Apple TV+ confirmed the renewal of the program with the head of Programming, Matt Cherniss, saying: “Chris, Paul, Alexander and the whole”Murder‘The team has delivered a brilliantly original, addictive, ingenious and vibrant adaptation that has captured the public’s imagination everywhere.
“We can’t wait to present for what follows Murder And, of course, ‘Sanctuary Luna‘In the second season. “
If I had to do a Murder Prediction of the launch date of season 2, I would say that since season 1 it was released in May 2025, we will see at the end of 2026/early 2027 before seeing what Murderbot approaches below.
Murderbot season 2 trailer: Is there one?
There is no Murder Trailer of season 2 to share, and there will be no time. For season 1, the trailer came out, as is the case, only one month before the program was released in Apple TV+.
Therefore, I would not expect a trailer until the release date we still don’t have! However, I will make sure to update here when I do.

Murderbot season 2 plot potential and plot rumors
The main spoilers continue to Murder Season 1.
Murder Season 1 was full of science fiction adventure, strange laughs, insect explosions and many binge episodes of ‘Sanctuary Luna‘.
However, when it comes to the plot of season 2, the program, like its titular character, can begin to form its own path.
Talking with comicbook, MurderThe executive product of David S. Goyer said: “The only difference between books and next season is that the economy of making a television program requires that the book series regular.
“Now that we have made a season and we have X number of regular customers of the series, most of those characters are not in the second book. You may see some remix of a couple of books.”
And so, while there are rumors of Murder Season 2 collecting the second novel from the Martha Wells series, Artificial conditionAnd season 1 ending faithful to how the first book did, it may not be so linear.
However, if you continue with book two, the official synopsis says: “It has a dark past, one in which several humans were killed. A past that caused him to baptize” murder. “But he only has vague memories of the massacre that generated that title, and wants to know more.
“As a team with a research ship called Art (you don’t want to know what the” A “represents), Murderbot goes to the mining installation where he became a rogue. What he discovers will always change the way he thinks …”
However, the end of Murderbot season 1 created viewers with a strong plot to resume episodes to come.
Murderbot, after almost dying and saving Mensah’s life, wakes up with his cleaned memory. With the team coming to save him and even Guathin taking a step forward to help Murderbot recover what he has lost, Murderbot’s future seems hopeful.
When they recover the murder, buying it from the company, they let it be free. But what will Murderbot with this new freedom?
Armed with his autonomy and some serious skills to kill, he addressed another ship. And while this can Be the aforementioned in the book Two Synopsis, it is a plot that remains firmly secret.
But, the end of season 1 was an incredibly reflexive conclusion and after an intense battle in the penultimate episode, he stripped the rhythm for Murderbot to feel all his feelings. And, I’m sure, there is much more than this to explore in Murder Season 2.
Will Murderbot get more seasons on Apple TV+?
There is currently no news about what is beyond Murder Season 2, which is not so surprising since it was only renewed for its second departure in July.
But, in a conversation with Comicbook, Goyer mentioned something that could, hopefully, insinuate more: “I would say that there are five other books that Martha Wells has written, so there is much more material. I do not know if the program will last five, six seasons.”
Sure, yes Murder Season 2 becomes a Mashup of the Wells iconic series, which can limit how many seasons are in process. But, with a stellar cast and a unique premise behind, there may be space for at least one more seasons.
Time will say it and imagine that we will not hear much more about it until at least season 2 is released. For now, I will emulate Murderbot’s improved senses and listen to any news on the ground.
