At least 314 people have died and 156 wounds suffered in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) due to floods, heavy rains and related incidents from August 15 to 17, the Provincial Authority of Disaster Management (PDMA) reported on Sunday.
Buner arose as the worst district beaten with 209 deaths, followed by Shangla with 36, Bajaur 21, Mansehra 24, Swat 16, Battagram Three and Lower Dir Five.

No deaths from Torghar and Upper Dir were reported, according to PDMA figures.
The report also recorded significant infrastructure losses, including 159 houses, either totally or partially damaged in DIR and Shangla, as well as 57 schools and another 22 affected facilities in different districts.
In addition, 157 won perished during floods.

“Heavy rains, landslides and torn roads are severely hindering rescue efforts, particularly the transport of heavy machinery and ambulances,” Bilal Ahmed Faizi, spokesman for the KP rescue agency, said KP rescue agency.
“In some areas, workers are forced to walk long distances to reach disaster sites,” he said. “They are trying to evacuate survivors, but very few people move due to the death that their relatives or loved ones are trapped in the rubble.”
The attached commissioner of the district of Buner, Kashif Qayum Khan, also said that rescuers were forced to find new ways of reaching remote areas. “Many more people can still be trapped under the rubble, that residents cannot clear manually,” Khan told AFP.

Almost 2,000 rescue personnel have been deployed, but the authorities warned that many victims can still be trapped under debris in remote villages.
The authorities said that relief and rescue operations continued in the affected areas, with medical help, rations and temporary shelters.
