China FM to visit Pakistan after India’s trip

Islamabad:

China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi will arrive in Islamabad this week to lead his country in the strategic dialogue of Pakistan-China and hold meetings with civil and military leadership to discuss bilateral ties together with key regional and international developments.

Official sources told The Express PAkGazette on Sunday that the main Chinese diplomat will undertake a two -day visit from August 21, flying directly from New Delhi, where a crucial tour begins on Monday.

In Islamabad, China’s Foreign Minister will review the current state of bilateral ties between the two countries and discuss key regional and international developments.

His visit comes in a context of a series of developments, including the military conflict of India-Pakistan in May, the Iran-Israel War in June and the recent heating of ties between Pakistan and the United States.

China’s support played a fundamental role in Pakistan’s victory over India during the four -day conflict. Although Beijing did not participate directly, the Chinese J-10C combatants and the PL-15 missiles beyond the visual range (BVR) helped Pakistan to tear down six Indian combat planes, including the French manufacturing raphales.

China also extended the diplomatic support to Pakistan after Pahalgam’s attack, supporting Islamabad’s call for third -party investigation into the incident that led the two nuclear armed neighbors to the edge of large -scale war.

Given the current geostrategic environment, both parties are expected to explore ways to further deepen cooperation. Contacts between the two countries have increased significantly in recent months.

During the visit of Wang, the agenda of the next trip to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to China is also expected. It is likely that the prime minister travels at the end of this month to attend the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and hold bilateral meetings with Chinese leadership.

Meanwhile, the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs is expected to visit Dhaka on August 23, on a trip that was postponed twice due to regional tensions. Initially, Dar was scheduled to visit Bangladesh in April, but Pahalgam’s attack and the consequent military escalation of Pakistan-India delayed the trip.

The next visit highlights the constant improvement in the relations of Pakistan-Bangladesh. Since the expulsion of Sheikh Hasina Wajid a year ago, ties between the two countries have suffered a dramatic change.

The former Awami League government maintained a minimum commitment to Pakistan. However, the interim government led by Professor Muhammad Youun moved to restore ties by raising Pakistani export restrictions and diplomats, and at the beginning of direct trade of the sea.

The trip to give is part of the efforts to consolidate the approach, with formal conversations scheduled with his counterpart from Bangladesh and main advisor Muhammad Youunus.

Before the visit, the Minister of Commerce, Jam Kamal, will be in Dhaka this week for discussions on commercial and commercial ties.

The Minister of Finance, Muhammad Aurengzeb, is expected to continue in September to attend the first meeting of the Joint Economic Commission of Pakistan-Bangladesh in 20 years.
