Karachi:
The heavy rains and the persistent downpour in Karachi have severely interrupted the flight operations of the city, stopping them on Tuesday with cancellations and generalized delays due to the storms climate conditions.
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) canceled the flights PK-310/311 on the Karachi-Quetta and PK-308/309 route in Karachi-Islamabad due to the adverse climate. The flight of Lahore-Karachi PK-305 was delayed in Lahore airport and will take off once the conditions improve.
Delays for Karachi-Najaf PK-109/110 flights were reported, with the rescheduled Karachi outings for 10:30 PM and PK-370 to Islamabad, it is expected to go at 9:30 pm, both delayed due to the non-passenger non-shows.
International Flights PK-731 to Jeddah and PK-843 to Madinah was also expected to face delays. In addition, Karachi-Islamlamabad flights of the morning PK-300/301 were canceled.
In general, eight flights were canceled and another 20 delayed in the middle of a continuous downpour in Karachi. The flights that arrived from Skardu and Dubai could not land, with the PK-456 deviant to the Sukkur airport and the FZ-335 flight of Dubai redirected to fine.
Multiple Karachi-Islamabad flights experienced delays, while Jeddah, Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Colombo’s flights also faced interruptions at the time.
Two national flights were canceled between Karachi and Quetta, Karachi and Islamabad, and two Sukkur flights. Private carriers also suspended two Karachi-Dubai flights.
The private operations of the airline were also interrupted. A flight from the Serena airline also tried two karachi landings in the middle of a severe climate, but was forced to abort and return to Islamabad. Passengers have been advised to control the flight updates closely while the city fights the severe climate that affects air trips.
