PBC rejects amendments to ATA


Islamabad:

The Council of the Pakistan Bar Association rejected on Wednesday the amendments made in section 11EEE of the 1997 Anti -Terror Law, in which the agencies of application of the law and the Armed Forces can stop suspects for up to three months.

In a resolution approved by the body that met under the presidency of Chaudhry Tahir Nasrullah Warraich, Vice, the participants of the meeting expressed their serious concerns about the amendment and said that each individual has the right and opportunity for due process of right and right judgment as considered in articles 4 and 10a of the Constitution.
