Saquon Barkley played a key role in the winning season of the Super Bowl of the Philadelphia Eagles, so much that a narrative arose about a resurgence of the corridor position.
Barkley suggested in a recent interview with Sports Illustrated to talk about a resurgence implied that talented corridors were not lacking in recent years, but that the teams had become reluctant to deliver great contracts, causing compensation for elite runners to submerge.
The three -time Bowler said he believed that the fall arose from the runners of “three to four” high profile signing large offers and subsequently injured.

Barkley described the devaluation of the runners a narrative designed to keep wages.
“() It wasn’t an album just for me,” Barkley told The Outlet. “It’s something they were trying to compensate, just to get players for cheaper value. And if you make that argument for runners, you can do it for any position in the NFL.”
“Now, you have owners and GM that try to find great players for cheaper value,” Barkley said. “That’s what I was. They talled me. Josh Jacobs was labeled (by Las Vegas Raiders).”
“I’m not going to sit here and say that I had colluded. I’m not going to enter all that. But football is football. If you can’t run the ball, you finished.”

Barkley pointed out that the teams routinely sign open receivers with large contracts as they enter at the age of 30, and if those players have a lower performance, almost as much as when the runners arrive at that stage of their races are not discussed.
“That notion (more passed) is very fun,” Barkley said. “It’s a bunk, all things in the backward position. You have open receptors that [teams] Pay all this money and when they reach 30 years, they do not work at the highest level; You just never listen to that. How many quarterbacks can you name who played in your last 30 years? They are not Tom Brady. They have to let that go! “
Last season, the 28 -year -old delivered one of the best seasons by land in the history of the NFL.

In 16 games, he was out of week 18 before the playoff race, Barkley ran for 2,005 yards in 345 attempts with 13 touchdowns, averaging 5.8 yards per haul. He led the league in yards by land, attempts and yards by game.
Barkley took that domain to the postseason, running for 499 yards in 91 attempts with five touchdowns in four playoff games, which takes all runners in each category.
Now, Barkley will seek to help lead the Eagles in their search for another Super Bowl ring when they open the season against the Dallas Cowboys in week 1.
