- Pacifier The premiere of season 2 falls many clues about Batman
- This season’s first episode contains multiple references to The Dark Knight
- Other DCU projects confirmed that Caped Cruster already operates in this universe
Pacifier Season 2 has finally made its long -awaited debut, and the latest installment of the popular HBO Max Show does not waste time to let us know that Batman already exists in the DC Universe (DCU).
It is true that previous DCU projects have done so. Creatures commands Episode 6 revealed the DCU Batman for the first time, although in the form of a silhouette, while James Gunn’s Superman The film contained a flickering and you will lose reference to Gotham City through a road sign.
However, the first episode of PacifierThe second year season really takes home that Bruce Wayne has been operating as his alter-ego vigilant for some time, and six specific Easter eggs that prove it.
Complete spoilers follow immediately to Pacifier 2The inaugural chapter.
The first of these occurs 12 minutes in the first game of this season, entitled ‘The Ties That Grind’.
While Leota Adebayo and Chris Smith stop at the place where the latter’s gang interview is celebrated, he said that the place is named after Krank Toys.
A business founded and directed by Griffin Krank, and then assumed by his son Cosmo after the death of his father, the company based in the city of Gotham and the Krank family were not created for DC Comics. In fact, they were made specifically for the 2004 animated series The Batman (N.B: It should not be confused with his homonym of films led by 2022 Matt Reeves). In that program, the Kranks made futuristic but dangerous toys and, after Bruce Wayne used his considerable influence to close it, Griffin adopted the pseudonym of Supervillano Tomoker to promulgate revenge on Wayne.
Batman’s next Easter egg of the DCU TV original appears moments later. As Smith approaches the entrance of the building, one of his bodyguards opens the door and a visibly annoying woman, who is dressed in a white rabbit costume, passes next to Smith.
A criminal known as the white rabbit, the real name Jaina Hudson, exists in comics. And, since Hudson’s alias appears in the sequence of final credits of episode 1, it is clear that this individual in ‘The thess that grind’ is the socialité based on Gotham that Luna Lights as a tortation. Therefore, it is another fun call for a member of the rogues gallery stacked from Crusader Caped.
They spend 15 minutes before the television series of chapter one of DCU lets its next Batman reference fall in the form of Argus Sasha Bordeaux agent, played here by Sol Rodríguez.
Created by Greg Rucka and Shawn Martinbrough, and debuting in ‘Detective Comics #751’ in December 2000, Bordeaux has great ties with the dark gentleman. I will not spoil anything about your comic history here in case you have been adapted for your live action in the DCU. However, talking to me before the return of the program, Rodríguez told me that it is “really love” if Bordeaux appears in the DCU Batman movie, which is currently titled The brave and the bold. We will see if you are granted your desire for postseason 2.
It is heard, or rather the Easter egg is heard, or rather, during the news report, Rick Flag SR is looking before Bordeaux enters his office to inform him about the “glitch” that they have been watching at Smith’s house (that is, Smith using the quantum deployment camera to access another dimension).
In this news bulletin, the presenter says that there have been three outbreaks in Belle Rive Penitenciary and Arkham in the last two months. The latter is, as expected, a reference to Arkham Asylum, the psychiatric hospital to which the supervillans captured by Batman are sent.
The penultimate Easter egg can be glimpsed in the Smith house trophy room that exists in the alternative universe that we will see during season 2.
While Chris Smith of the DCU inspects some cuts of newspapers framed by the heroic feats of his family in this parallel dimension, one of those articles reveals that they frustrated something known as the creature of the rainbow. A powerful abominable snow -type character, this monster first appeared in ‘Batman Vol. 1 #134’ in September 1960. Created by Bill Finger and Sheldon Moldoff, it comes from South America and has access to several superpowers, including pyrocinesis and the ability to vaporize objects, through their multicolored skin.
The final reference in one of the second season of HBO Max Shows is not specific to Batman. However, given his ties with the hero with whom he is related, he still counts.
So what is it? When the Smith of the DCU tropeated outside and meets his brother Keith, who is alive and all grown in this alternative reality, the latter tells the first to “I thought you were in Bludhaven.” That is the adjacent city of Gotham protected by Nightwing, also known as Dick Grayson. It is one of the many individuals who assumes the identity of Robin superheroes, that is, Batman’s partner, in DC Comics.
