- The Google Pixel 10 series does not include Battery Share
- This feature was removed to allow magnetic wireless load Qi2
- Not all Pixel fans are happy with this change
The Google Pixel 10 series comes with a series of new features, but it also lacks some things, with Battery Share absent from these phones.
That is Google’s name for in reverse wireless load function: in other words, the ability to use your phone to wirelessly load other devices. It is a common feature on Android phones, including the Google Pixel 9 series, but is missing in Pixel 10.
However, there is a good reason for this, since Droidreader asked Google and told him that the variety of magnets required for magnetic wireless load QI2 “creates a strong connection with the charger but presents a physical limitation for the reverse wireless load.”
Then, in other words, the addition of the magnetic wireless load QI2 (which allows you to use the new Pixelsnap accessories) meant that Google had to eliminate the battery.
Magsafe with pixel brand
For most people, we would bet that this is a good trade. Pixelsnap looks a lot like Magsafe: it is an ecosystem of wireless loaders and accessories such as supports and grips that can join the back of its 10 pixel with magnets.
It is a useful feature, but not everyone is happy with this change, with a Reddit thread that includes comments such as “This hurts a lot”, and “Battery Share that I found that it is such a useful feature.”
Even so, other comments mentioned hardly if they use it, so it is certainly not a universally dear characteristic. With luck, even those who loved Battery Share will also appreciate Pixelsnap, but if not, other brands such as Samsung still offer similar inverse wireless load capabilities.
