- Trump criticizes US government websites
- The new “American by Design” initiative will modernize the sites of government agencies
- Airbnb co -founder Joe Gebbia appointed National Design Studio Design Director
President Trump can soon be looking for the best website builders after ordering improvements on the federal government’s websites and physical spaces with the hope of making them more attractive to both workers and customers.
“The government has been delayed in usability and aesthetics,” Trump said in a new executive order, pointing out the need for modernization of the system that could address high maintenance costs in the process.
The Executive Order explains that inherited systems can be expensive to maintain and expensive for US citizens, who can spend more time than necessary to navigate them, hence the need for change.
Trump wants to modernize US government websites.
The order presents the new ‘America by design’ initiative of Trump, which begins with high -touch sites in which citizens are more likely to interact with government agencies.
The formation of a new national design study and the appointment of a design director will supervise the project.
“It is the policy of my administration to offer digital and physical experiences that are beautiful and efficient, improving the quality of life of our nation,” Trump wrote.
The National Design Studio has had the task of reducing duplicate design costs, in the same way that the White House has already begun to centralize the acquisition to increase the efficiency of profitability.
It will also use a standardized design for consistency and trust, and improve the quality of public experiences.
The agencies have been granted until July 4, 2026 to deliver their initial results after consulting with the design director.
Separate PakGazette The reports have revealed that the co -founder of Airbnb, Joe Gebbia, will direct the National Design Studio as design director, with the Internal Revenue Service to the first place to see a review.
Trump’s order also confirms that the “temporary organization” will close in three years, on August 21, 2028, suggesting that the modernization of the site could be completed even before that.
