President Donald Trump praised on Friday the repression of the administration against crime in Washington, DC, when he announced that the tie for the 2026 FIFA World Cup It will take place at the Kennedy center on December 5.
The president joined the president of FIFA, Gianni Infantino, and the Secretary of the Department of National Security, Kristi Noem, in the Oval Office for Friday’s announcement. Trump, now president of the Kennedy Center, confirmed that the raffle for the group stage will take place at the scene of the performing arts.

“On December 5 of this year, the FIFA 2026 World Cup raffle will take place at the Kennedy Center. Some people refer to it as the Trump-Kennedy center, but we are not yet prepared to do so, perhaps in a week or so,” Trump said, causing laughter of the group.

“But right here in Washington, DC, It is a great honor to bring the global event and this incredible group of people and these incredible athletes, the best athletes in the world, to the cultural center of the capital of our nation. ”
Trump also took the opportunity to highlight the federal acquisition of DC of his administration in an effort to take energetic measures against crime.
“By the way, in Washington, DC, we have the lowest crimes numbers they have had in years. Zero. It is something horrible to say it, but I could also say it, zero murders in the last week since we have done this. That is the first time in the memory that happened. If you can believe it. What pathetic should even say it.”

Trump joked to Infantino that the city “will be pleasant” just in time for the raffle, joking that the Italian sports figure “could manage” independently.

Trump established a White House working group earlier this year in advance of the Club World Cup and the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be predominantly organized by the United States, Canada and Mexico will also be the hosts of several games.
The International Tournament, which covers North America, will begin in June 2026 and is the first World Cup in more than two decades that will take place in multiple countries. The tournament will be organized in 16 cities, starting with 48 teams and playing 104 games in total.
In the United States, games will be played in Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas, Kansas City, Atlanta, Miami, Boston, Philadelphia and East Rutherford, New Jersey.
