Geekom has launched the A9 Max, a compact desk that generally has a price of $ 1,199, but is currently available for $ 999.
The PC combines the last Ryzen AI 9 HX370 processor with Radeon 890m, 32 GB of DDR5 memory, a 2TB PCIE SSD PCIE GEN4 and support for up to four 8K monitors.
The HX370, based on AMD Zen 5 architecture, is based on the TSMC Finfet 4NM process and presents 12 cores and 24 wires, a 5.1GHz maximum impulse clock and 24 MB of L3 cache, with a configurable TDP of up to 54W.
Many ports
It integrates a dedicated AI engine capable of 80 tops, which makes the A9 Max very suitable for the acceleration of AI in the device in workflows, such as content creation and professional applications that benefit from local processing power.
The integrated GPU RADEON 890M is based on RDNA 3.5 and offers performance typically beyond what most mini PC have provided in the past.
It comes with 32 GB of double channel DDR5 (expandable up to 128 GB) and a 2TB PCIE GEN4 SSD. Two PCIE 4.0 slots allow a storage expansion of up to 8TB.
As expected from a modern mini PC, the A9 Max offers a good selection of ports. In the front panel, there is a 3.5 mm headphones connector, three USB 3.2 Gen 2 A and a type A USB 3.2 Gen 2 that remains fed even when the system is off.
The rear panel includes two HDMI 2.1 ports, two type-C USB4 ports with Displayport Alt mode and power delivery, another USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A and a USB 2.0 Type-A.
It also includes Ethernet RJ45 ports of 2.5Gbps, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, as well as an SD card reader and a Kensington block.
The chassis is constructed from metal, maintaining the factor in a small way while maintaining durability. Geekom says it can support up to 200 kg of without bending pressure.
The Iceblast 2.0 cooling system with a large copper thermal dissipator, dual heat pipes and high performance fan should keep fresh things even when they are under load or during prolonged use.
