Move on Eagles, another raptor is taking care of the grill.

Ospreys who chose to raise his chicks in a nest on a light post in a soccer stadium at Minnesota high school now have the entire field for themselves.

The fisherman eagles are a species protected by the federal government and the State, and due to its nesting location, the Aguilas soccer team of Apple Valley high school must reorganize its schedule.

“When you tell someone this story of ‘Wow, we have to reprogram because there is a fisherman eagle nest in our stadium,’ they are like, ‘You cannot do this kind of thing, right?'” Cory Hanson, Atlético de la School, whose pet is the Eagles, he told Associated Press.

The Eagles must now play all their games at home during the day because lighting the reflectors where the birds have their nest could hurt them.

Heidi Cyr, from the Minnesota Natural Resources Department, said the school can eliminate the nest once the fisherman eagle chicks can fly, which should not take too long.

“Fortunately for Apple Valley, they should be able to eliminate the nest in probably a week because birds have already taken some of their first flights,” Cyr explained.

The school, which realized the nest in June, has been sending a drone every few days to see the progress of the chicks.

School officials plan to relocate the nest on another platform on school land and build deterrent elements in the stadium lights once the chicks leave, hoping that the fishing eagles return next year.

“So, if someone sees that happens, don’t worry,” Cyr said. “The birds are safe. They have successfully left the nest and are on their way to become adults.”

The fishing eagles are a great bird bird with a wingspan up to six feet, and they like to build nests in high places with clear views.

“When you see these great birds flying through your field with these huge sticks, you start asking questions such as ‘What’s happening here?'” Hanson said. “And you take a look at that nest, right? And you are like, ‘ok, this is not your average bird'”.

He said that other schools have been useful for finding alternative locations and times for games.

The department sometimes emits the elimination of nests when the fishermen eagles make nests in critical infrastructure such as public services posts and cell phone tower, but they are generally denied if the chicks remain.

The fishermen eagles were eliminated from the list of special concern species in 2015 after efforts to rebuild their population.
