Islamabad:
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar, will make an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from August 25 to 26 to participate in the extraordinary session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) in Jeddah.
The DPM/FM will travel directly from Dhaka, at the end of his two -day visit to Bangladesh, to attend the high -level meeting.
“The high -level meeting will bring together foreign ministers and senior officials of the OIC Member States to deliberate the coordinated responses to the growing developments in Palestine, as a result of the current Israeli military aggression, their proposed plans for total military control over Gaza and the continuous heinous violations of the rights of the Palestinians,” said the spokesman for the foreign office in a statement.
As a firm defender of the Palestinian cause, the spokesman said that Pakistan constantly highlighted the problem in international forums.
During the next extraordinary session of OIC-CFM, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister will reaffirm the unwavering support of Pakistan to Palestine and reiterate his position of principles.
The DPM/FM will advocate for the total withdrawal of Israel of all occupied Palestinian territories; reject the scandalous Israeli plan to extend complete military control over Gaza and a greater displacement of Palestinians; Emphasize the urgent need for humanitarian assistance without obstacles; And request the restoration of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, more markedly, the establishment of an independent, adjoining and sovereign Palestinian state based on the borders prior to June 1967, with Al-Quds al-Sharif as capital.
Apart from the OIC-CFM, the DPM/FM is expected to celebrate bilateral meetings with their counterparts of the key Member States of OIC, the statement added.
