Caitlin Clark has not been able to return to the court with Indiana’s fever, but presumably took an important step for that to happen.

Clark, who has been out since July 15 with an injury to the groin, was seen doing a light job in Shootaround on Sunday before his teammates faced Minnesota Lynx.

Now, chief coach Stephanie White says that Clark has not officially returned to the practice of fever, but participating in shooting drills is a step in the right direction.

“It was a good step because she went on the floor with us for the first time, part of the type of return to activity,” White told the Indy star.

White added that Clark’s role was “very low, low maintenance” and “low intensity”, since they certainly do not want to re -establish their injury.

Caitlin Clark’s return to fever alignment is still mystery

“I think he just puts her back, feel comfortable and look where he is going.”

The exercise in which Clark participated, after going through what is considered dynamic warming, was without contact and low impact.

With seven remaining games in the regular fever season, they hope to stay in the playoff position. They are currently 19-17, which is good for seed number 6. Only the eight main seeds reach the playoffs.

And although it is not necessary to say what Clark can provide once he returns to the court, it is almost imperative if Indiana wishes to run, since several other key pieces are out of year with injuries.

The last blow was Sophie Cunningham, the new star of Fever who broke her MCL last Sunday during a match against Connecticut Sun. There were also Sydney Colson guards (acl torn) and Aari McDonald (fracture fracture) who suffered injuries that ended the season.

That is three guards for the year, so the fever is at the desperate limit for recovering their superstar if they can maintain the playoff position.

Clark, who also suffered a bone bruise on the left ankle on August 7, has played only 13 games this year for fever. He dealt with a quadruple tension at the beginning of the year before suffering his current ailments.

Clark averaged 16.5 points, 8.8 assists and five rebounds in 31.1 minutes per game in which she played this season.
