After a historic visit to Bangladesh, the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar, arrived in Jeddah on Monday to participate in the 21st extraordinary session of the Organization of Ministers of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
Foreign ministers and senior officials of the Member States must meet to consider the issue of Israel’s assault to Gaza.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs detailed the agenda: “To deliberate the coordinated responses to the growing developments in Palestine, derived from the ongoing Israeli military aggression, proposed plans for total military control over Gaza and the continuous atrocious violations of Palestinian rights.”
Dar arrived at the King Abdulaziz Jeddah International Airport and was received by Pakistan’s permanent representative to OIC Fawad Sher Ambassador, Pakistan Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmad Farooq and Consul General of Pakistan in Jeddah Khalid Majid.

According to FO, Dar plans to reaffirm Pakistan’s support for the Palestinian cause and ask for the withdrawal of all Israeli troops in Gaza at the OIC meeting.
Pakistan’s position remains unwavering, “rejects the scandalous Israeli plan to extend complete military control over Gaza and even more emphasizes the urgent need for humanitarian assistance without obstacles and asking for the restoration of the legitimate rights of the people of Palestine.”
Pakistan has constantly expressed his support for a high fire. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had hosted the adoption of a resolution by the United Nations Security Council that demanded a high immediate fire in Gaza. The ambassador to Iphtikar Ahmad, Pakistan’s permanent representative to the UN, addressed the General Assembly on June 17. He expressed his disappointment as a resolution that required that a high immediate fire was vetoed in the UNSC.
Dar plans to hold bilateral conversations on the sidelines with the key member states of the ICO during their two -day stay in Jeddah on August 25 and 26.
Ruinas Gaza City
The extraordinary OIC meeting arrives at a critical moment as Israeli troops continue their offensive on the eastern and northern outskirts of Gaza. The Israeli army gave a statement on Sunday, announcing that their troops return to Jabralia with the intention of greater expansion in additional areas.
The worsening of the situation of Gaza looms on the OIC meeting, since the integrated classification of the food security phase declares Gaza a level 5 described as “catastrophic hunger”, stating that a quarter of all the Palestinians in Gaza are hungry. According to the Ministry of Health of Gazán, the deaths caused by hunger and malnutrition are now 289, 115 of which are children.
Israel’s plan to take the city of Gaza
On August 8, the Israeli government launched a five -point plan “to defeat Hamas” and “conclude the war.” This plan approved by the Israeli security cabinet proposes a plan to take control of the city of Gaza. “The Israeli Defense Forces (FDI) will prepare to take control of the city of Gaza while providing humanitarian aid to the civilian population outside the combat areas,” said the Israeli army.
According to the Israeli media, the Plan will initially focus on taking total control of the city of Gaza, expelling its millions of residents further south. The FDI plans to take control of the refugee fields located in the center of Gaza and areas that are suspected to house the hostages.
Islamabad has reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to the Palestinian cause and completely rejects Israel’s plan to occupy Gaza.
The plan has faced generalized criticism from different world leaders. The British prime minister, Keir Starmer, was summoned as declaring: “This action will do nothing to put an end to this conflict or to help ensure the release of hostages. It will only bring more bloodshed.”
Countries such as Australia, Finland and Türkiye have opposed the plan.
What is the OIC?
The Islamic Cooperation Organization (OIC) was established in 1969 consisting of 47 Member States on four continents. It is the second largest global organization, which arrives in second place only to the United Nations. The OIC works to create a singular voice for the Islamic world. The IIC had written a resolution asking for the immediate and permanent fire in Gaza earlier this month, which was vetoed by the UN Security Council.
The OIC recognizes the ongoing genocide in Gaza and holds the Israeli state of the humanitarian catastrophe that develops there.
According to the official statement, the IIC requires “the immediate integral cessation of Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip, and the end of continuous violations committed by occupying forces against civilians and civil infrastructure in the Gaza Strip, Bank and Jerusalem East.”
