- It is predicted that the Airpods Pro 3 will be launched this year
- They could come with heart rate monitors
- Three years have passed since the Apple Airpods Pro 2 was launched
There have been many contradictory reports on whether Apple would come to launch the Airpods Pro 3 this year, but one of the most reliable reporters in Apple’s rhythm says that wireless headphones will arrive before the late 2025.
That reporter is Mark Gurman in Bloomberg, who says that Airpods Pro 3 will also come with a significant update: incorporated heart rate monitoring. The same technology has previously been integrated into the Powerbeats Pro 2 that was launched in February.
With Powerbeats Pro 2, LED optical sensors prescribe more than 100 times per second, measuring heart rate through blood flow. Presumably, the AirPods Pro 3 will function in a similar way and feed the statistics to the Apple Health application.
Gurman also reiterates his previous statement that Apple is working on a Health+ subscription option paid for users, which may include the services of a Fitness AI coach. The idea is to obtain custom tips on diet, exercise and more.
Three years later
We have been waiting for a lot of time for the Airpods Pro 3 to arrive, considering that the Apple Airpods Pro 2 made its debut in September 2022. The wireless headphones market has changed a lot at that time, and since then we have had the Apple Airpods 4, of course.
Most of the leaks and rumors we have heard about these headphones are worried when they will really see daylight. There have been clues in iOS 26 that the Airpods Pro 3 would arrive in 2025, although a reliable source has suggested a 2026 launch.
It seems clear that Apple wants health monitoring to be a main focus of the Airpods Pro 3, in addition to obtaining high quality audio in its ears, and we can see the wireless headphones capable of tracking other vital statistics in addition to its heart rate.
Wireless headphones are one of several devices “in the pipe” for Apple “as soon as this fall”, which is generally September, October and November. We also expect the iPhone 17 and Apple Watch 11 at some point in next month.
