At least nine militants linked to Fitna al-Khawarij were killed during a joint operation carried out by the Police and the Department of Terrorism (CTD) in the Superior District of Dir of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a superior superintendent (SSP) of a superior superintendent (SSP).

During the clashes, two civilians lost their lives, while 10 police personnel and CTD suffered wounds, the SSP added.
Pakistan witnessed an increase in terrorist activities, particularly in his provinces Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Baluchistan since 2021.
In May of this year, Pakistan saw a slight increase in militant attacks, even when the main military tensions with the Indian neighbor failed to trigger a significant escalation in the violence of extremist groups.
According to a report published by the Institute of Conflict and Security Studies of Pakistan (PETSS), a group of experts based in Islamabad, the country witnessed 78 terrorist attacks during the month of June, which resulted in at least 100 deaths.
Among the deaths were 53 security personnel, 39 civilians, six militants and two members of the local peace committees.
A total of 189 people were injured, including 126 members of the security forces and 63 civilians.
In total, violence and operations led to 175 deaths in June, including 55 security personnel, 77 militants, 41 civilians and two members of the Peace Committee.
The security forces, together with the agencies of application of the law (LEA) have carried out operations against the terrorists and have even launched a specific action against militants in the KP Bajaur.
Earlier this month, the forces had also killed 47 terrorists backed by the Indians, trying to infiltrate Afghanistan, during separate operations in the Zhob district of Baluchistan.
