- Users will no longer need to apply Windows updates after the first session
- When updating during the OOBE, the PCs are protected from the first day
- The change applies to Microsoft enters together and hybrid united devices
As of September 2025, Windows 11 (22h2 or posterior) devices may install quality updates during experience outside the box (OOBE) by default, which means that it will become even easier for administrators to install updates during configuration.
The change applies to Microsoft enters joined and Hybrid entered joined devices.
For IT administrators, you will see that Windows now verifies and installs the applications applicable on the final OOBE page so that users do not need to apply any update when they start session for the first time.
Softer Windows updates for all
“With Windows Autopilot and Microsoft Intune (or alternative management solutions), you can maintain perfect control over quality update behavior during supply, while guaranteeing alignment with the safety and compliance requirements of the organization,” wrote Victoria Wang of Microsoft Product in a blog post,
The system requires that the devices run Windows 11 Pro, Enterprise, Education or SE, and companies must use Microsoft Intune to administer Windows quality updates.
The OOBE update experience is also only available to those who have had the zero -day patch of August 2025 or those with the update with the Windows non -security update of June 2025.
Because the devices will be delivered to workers with the latest security and quality updates, companies can improve safety and compliance from day one. It also reduces the load on IT workers and equipment after the device brochure.
This marks a welcome change of the previous configuration, which saw the end users have to update their computers after receiving them.
The improvement occurs as more companies are updated to Windows 11 before the imminent final of the Windows 10 support in October 2025.
The Canalys Research Manager, Kieren Jessop, explained that the commercial update cycle is now “providing a vital impulse for the [PC] Market ”while consumers exercise more caution.
