Protests organized by the Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) in response to the ongoing crisis in Parachinar, Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, continue to paralyze several parts of Karachi on Sunday.
The ongoing protests have paralyzed traffic, leaving commuters struggling to navigate major roadblocks.
Traffic police have advised citizens to take alternative routes, but these roads are also facing heavy congestion due to the protests.
According to the traffic police, the central protest is taking place at Numaish Chowrangi, where both sides of the Abu al-Hasan Isfahani road and Abbas town are blocked.
The protests have also affected traffic at Five Star Chowrangi in North Nazimabad and at Samama Mall on University Road.
More disruptions have been reported at Kala Chapra, near Shaheed-e-Millat Road, where both sides of the road are closed. A protest is also underway on Surjani Town Road and traffic is blocked near Incholi area in Shahrah-e-Pakistan.
In Gulistan-e-Jauhar, in Kamran Chowrangi, all routes are blocked due to protests. Nizamabad No. 1 and Powerhouse Chowrangi are also facing traffic problems due to the ongoing protests.
Last night, traffic jams were severe on main roads and also on alternative routes, leaving commuters stranded for hours, causing major inconvenience.
Although traffic on the roads is less due to the weekend holiday, pressure on alternative routes continues.
