The head of the Army personnel (COAS) field tablet, Syed also Munir, has assured that all minority religious sites damaged during recent floods, including Darbar Sahib Kartarpur, will be restored to their original condition with priority, Radio Pakistan reported Friday.
During his visit to the districts affected by the floods of Punjab, including Sialkot, Shakargarh, Nareowal and Kartarpur, the head of the army met with members of the SIJ community.
He said it was the responsibility of the State and its institutions to protect the religious sites of minorities, reaffirming that Pakistan “would not leave stone without moving” when fulfilling this duty.
The SIJ community expressed its gratitude to the Chief of the Army for the support of relief and rehabilitation provided by the Civil Administration and the military during the calamity. The Munir Marshal also conducted an air survey of Darbar Sahib Kartarpur to assess the damage caused by floods.
The purpose of the visit was to review the situation of the flood, supervise rescue and relief operations, and evaluate preparations for the next rain spell. It was informed about the predominant conditions and continuous measures to minimize losses.
Appreciating the efforts of civil administration and troops, Coas praised their coordinated and tireless work to save lives and relieve families affected by floods.
While interacting with the soldiers, he praised his high moral, operational preparation and unwavering commitment to serve the nation in challenging circumstances.
