The former Yankees player in New York and World Cup champion Mark Teixeira launched his campaign for the house of representatives of the United States on Thursday, angry the liberals.
Although many of Teixeria fans supported the former MLB All-Star for taking a chance in public office, his admission of being a “lifelong conservative” and the principles of his campaign were found with the outrage of certain people on the left.

Another user X wrote: “Mark Teixeira is a magician post not a little surprise.”
A user even went so far as to call Teixeira a “bad person”, in response to his career as a Republican.
“I didn’t know that Mark Teixeira was a bad person, but here we are,” that user wrote.
Even so, most of the discourse surrounding Teixeira’s career in X was positive, with many conservatives expressing enthusiasm for the impact it would contribute to the baseball game of Congress, which the Republican Party has won during the last five years.
Meanwhile, in Bluesky, which is a competitor X commonly used by liberals, criticisms of Teixeira’s announcement were unbridled.
“This asks. You consider yourself a star in baseball if you succeed 30% of the time in Bat. It should be a perfect candidate for Republican voters who yearn for even more mediocrity disguised as greatness,” wrote a Bluesky user.
“Mark Teixeira: garbage person,” another wrote.
Meanwhile, another Bluesky user released a phrase that many from the left have often criticized when they apply to athletes who speak in support of liberal causes.
“I never thought I would hear me say, but only once, I stayed with sports,” a user wrote.

Teixeira will apply for the 21st Texas Congress District in the United States Chamber. His announcement follows the decision of representative Chip Roy not to seek re -election while running for the office of the Texas Attorney General.
Teixeira issued an official statement on social networks, saying that he is “ready to help defend the first Abeter of America of President Trump, the families of Texas and individual freedom.”
“As a proud Texan and conservative of a lifetime who loves our country, I am ready to fight for the principles that make Texas strong and exceptional America,” reads the statement. “Teamwork is needed to win, and I am ready to help defend President Trump’s first agenda, Texas families and individual freedom.”
In his announcement, Teixeira praised Roy for representing the district “with unwavering courage.”
“I am running to ensure that district 21 remains prosperous and free for coming generations,” he added.
Teixeira, 45, played 14 seasons in the majors. Debuted with him Texas Rangers In 2003 and went on to play for the Braves of Atlanta, Los Angeles Angels, and especially the New York Yankees.

Teixeira was three times winner of the Silver Slugger award and finished his career with an average bat of .269 and 409 homers. He was five times Gold Glove winner and was a member of the 2009 Yankees World Series Championship team.
The race is scheduled for November 2026, with a elementary school scheduled for March.
