PM Shehbaz to visit China for Sco Summit today


Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to leave for China to attend the Council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) of the State Heads Summit Council that will be held in Tianjin on Saturday, Radio Pakistan reported.

During his visit from August 30 to September 4, the Prime Minister will hold high-level meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Qiang to discuss the multifaceted dimensions of the Bilateral Cooperation of Pakistan-China.

Conversations will focus on strengthening economic, political and strategic ties between the two countries. As part of the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz will attend a great military parade in Beijing along with President XI and other world leaders to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the world’s anti -fascist war.

It is also expected to be involved with the main Chinese commercial figures and corporate executives to explore ways to improve bilateral trade, investment and economic collaboration. It will go to the Pakistan-China B2B investment conference in Beijing, underlining Pakistan’s commitment to promote deeper economic ties.

This visit is part of the ongoing exchanges at the leadership level between Pakistan and China. It highlights the importance of both countries imposing even more their “strategic cooperative association for all climate”, reaffirming mutual support on central issues, moving forward in phase II of China-Pakistan economic corridor and maintaining a regular dialogue in key regional and global developments.
