Islamabad:
The federal government has constituted a special committee to provide legal assistance to address the problems of the families of missing persons, whose cases are under investigation in the Commission for Investigation on Forced Disappearances, in family matters related to the law.
According to a press release issued on Friday, the families of missing persons who have a problem of this type, especially related to NADRA regarding the issuance of CNIC/form-B for various purposes, they can present their complaints, in writing, to the special committee through any mode of communication, including email ([email protected]) or whatsapp (0321-5101070) Durious copies.
Families can also visit and meet with Saadia Rashid, assistant registrar of the Commission for Investigation on Forced Disappearances, in the General Civil Defense Building of the General Directorate, Mauve area, G-9/1 sector, Islamabad on any work day, for the presentation and discussion about its such problems.
Recently, the Judge of the Supreme Court, Athar Mining, elaborated the difficulties faced by the judges regarding the cases of missing persons and forced disappearances against non -cooperation by the State and the legislators.
By June 2025, Coioed had received a total of 10,592 cases, of which 1,914 were eliminated and traced 6,786, said the commission.
Last year, the Government announced a “support package” of RS5 million per family of missing persons, which would provide legal and financial assistance according to the Minister of Law.
