- Pixel 10 wireless load problems are reported
- The problems seem to be connected with older loaders
- Until now Google has had nothing to say about it
A new telephone launch often comes with some of the first attached problems, such as randomian reset on iPhone 16, and we are seeing reports from some Google Pixel 10 owners who have problems with wireless load on their devices.
Several of the complaints have been collected by the team at 9to5google, and include problems such as the slow load and the load that begins and then stops after a few minutes or seconds have passed.
You can read some of the reports yourself in this Reddit thread, which focuses specifically on the Pixel Stand 2 that was launched together with the Pixel 6. It is difficult to say how generalized these problems are, but there are many frustrated users.
The 9th5google team has been able to replicate some, but not all the problems that were reported online, and we did not see any problem with the wireless load during the tests we did for our review of Google Pixel 10.
New standards, new problems
It seems that these errors can affect all the different pixel 10 models, including Google Pixel 10 Pro and Google Pixel 10 Pro XL. If there is a connection between the reports, it may be that all involve previous wireless load devices.
The Pixel 10 series brings with it a wireless load update, with support for QI2 and a new magnetic power profile (MPP), which means an Android experience that is a bit like Magsafe, with magnets used to align telephones and loaders.
It is possible that older load devices do not work correctly with the new standards, so users do not see a wireless load performance without problems, although this is not something that Google has mentioned.
Until now, there has been no Google response to complaints, but we will keep it updated if that happens. It is possible that a software solution can solve some of these problems with the previous wireless load hardware.
