Rescue operations along the expanded rivers

Large -scale rescue and relief operations continued through Punjab on Sunday when the waters of the floods of the Ravi River and the heavy rains left thousands of stranded in low areas.

Rescue 1122 teams, the Punjab police and the highway police reported extensive evacuations, with the total number of people rescued throughout the province exceeding 154,000.

According to rescue spokesman 1122 Farooq Ahmed, emergency staff rescued 220 people, including women, children and older citizens, from the Khurdpur village, near Mandi manga. Another 16 people were evacuated from Wadana, a neighboring settlement. All rescued people were transferred to safe places along with domestic belongings. Ahmed said that rescue flooding operations 1122 continued day and night, and the calls received through the aid line.

Citizens were advised to share precise locations when seeking assistance to allow a timely response.

Punjab police said that evacuations throughout the province had reached a significant number. The rescued include 63,788 men, 45,337 women and more than 45,000 children. The police also changed more than 167,000 cattle to ensure areas to avoid losses.

In Lahore, more than 6,000 people were evacuated.

Punjab police spokesman said operations are being supported by more than 700 vehicles and 40 ships.

The Punjab Police Inspector, Dr. Usman Anwar, ordered an improved patrol in evacuated neighborhoods to safeguard the property of citizens due to theft or damage.

In relief camps, the police have had the task of providing complete security in addition to ensuring that food and other needs are delivered to displaced persons.

Dr. Anwar ordered coordination with the Provincial Authority for Disaster Management (PDMA), District Administrations, Rescue 1122 and other security agencies, as well as regular patrol in villages and settlements along the rivers to monitor the flood situation.
