Woody Allen is a director with whom many are familiar, but there is someone with whom he says he would like to work again.

That is the president of the United States, Donald Trump. The filmmaker directed him in the 1998 cinema celebrity.

In his words, the former star of reality is easy to direct, as he explains while he appears in Bill Maher’s Random club podcast.

“He was very educated and gave his brand and did everything correctly and had a real touch for the show business,” shares the director.

His comments follow the host’s question about whether Cancel Culture has led him to support the current president. Woody previously faced cancellation after he was accused of sexual abuse.

But the filmmaker denies this, saying: “I would only want to be able to direct it now. If I let me direct it now that he is president, I think he could do wonders,” he added: “But it was very easy to work.”

To drive his point home, the veteran director even shares his political inclination: “I am a Democrat. I voted for Kamala Harris. I realize it in 95% of things, maybe 99%.”

However, Woody in the end says: “But as an actor, it was very good. He was very convincing and had a charismatic quality as an actor. I am surprised that I would have wanted to enter politics.”
