Rawalpindi:
A MI-17 helicopter from the Aviation Corporation of the Pakistan army crashed Monday at the Gilgit-Baltist (GB) region, killing the five crew members, including two pilots.
According to Public Relations between Services (ISPR), the helicopter was on a routine training flight when it developed a technical failure and crashed near Hudor Village, about 12 kilometers from Thakdas closure in the GB.
All members of the crew on board hugged martyrdom. They were identified as ATIFOR (Pilot on command, Major Faisal, El Copiloto, Naib Subedar Maqbool), as well as the chiefs of the crew, Havaldar Jahangir and Naik Amir.
“The training missions are part of the routine activities of the army aviation to maintain operational preparation to perform tasks that vary from operational support to humanitarian assistance and disaster help. Pakistan’s army remains committed to guaranteeing preparation in all facets,” said the military media wing.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep pain and sadness for the training of the training helicopter. In their separate statements, the president and the prime minister prayed for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs in Jannah. Extending condolences to the families of the martyrs, they prayed for patience and strength for the afflicted families. (With application entry)
