New England patriots Chief coach Mike Vratabel seemed to throw Bill Belichick inadvertently after the NFL legend failed in his debut with North Carolina earlier this week.
Vratabel, a former player under Belichick and one of his successors in New England, was asked during an appearance at Weei’s “The Greg Hill Show” On the debut of the coach in Chapel Hill that ended in a defeat against TCU on Monday night.

Hill tried to give Belichick some grace, asking Vrabel: “It takes time, don’t you think he put a program?” But Vrababe was overwhelming in his evaluation.

“I don’t know, Urban Meyer won 12 of his first 12 games in Ohio state, So it didn’t take him for a long time, “said Vrabel.” That is my experience in university football. “
After a strong NFL Carrera that included three victories at the Super Bowl, Vrababe returned to Ohio State as a supporter coach in 2011. He stayed in two other seasons as a defensive line coach and worked with Meyer during the 2012 season, when the Buckeyes were undefeated. Due to the sanctions of the NCAA, the team did not make an appearance in the postseason.

However, Vrabel described his comments on Tuesday, noting that the “landscape” is probably very different from when he trained at the university.
“Now I can only imagine the university football scene … I’m sure it’s probably not so easy outside the best programs.”
