The 2025 NFL season has begun in the most absurd way possible.
The Defensive Tackle star of the Philadelphia Eagles, Jalen Carter, was expelled before the first offensive snapshot of the game after spitting the field marshal of the Dallas Cowboys, Dak Prescott.
Prescott left the cowboys group to meet Carter, who had walked towards Prescott while the officials were talking about a penalty at the start of opening. Video repetition showed Carter and Prescott speaking, and Carter spit it before moving away.

The referees immediately threw a flag, and Carter was expelled after it was called an unsportsmanlike penalty.

Carter, 24, is entering his third year at the NFL after being taken ninth in general by Philadelphia in the NFL 2023 draft out of Georgia. He made the Pro Bowl last season, with 4½ captures and 42 tacle combined in 16 games as he emerged as a defensive interior.
In 2023, Carter was runner -up as a defensive rookie of the year after totaling six catches, 33 combined cups, two forced loose balls and their lonely recovery of the loose ball 42 yards for a touchdown was returned.

There is clearly some bad blood between these two division rivals. There was also a physical altercation that turned out that the flags were launched after the first touchdown of the Eagles season.
