- Lenovo’s Legion Go 2 has been presented by packing an OLED screen
- This screen has an 144Hz update rate with VRR support, but the resolution falls compared to the original
- Legion Go sequel also has a considerably more robust battery.
Lenovo has unleashed his second generation Gaming Gaming Gaming Handheld in its Innovation World 2025 event among all IFA 2025 revelations.
Legion Go 2 looks very like the original 11 Windows 11 laptop and maintains the 8.8 -inch screen, but has been updated to an OLED panel. However, as rumored, the current 1600p resolution decreases to 1200p (known as Wuxga, 1920 x 1200).
The new screen has an 144Hz update rate with VRR support (variable update rate) for softer games, and has the HDR Trueblack 1000 certification, so you must offer strong and vivid colors with deep blacks (as expected with an OLED).
Under the hood, we have the AMD Ryzen Z2 processor, or Ryzen Z2 Extreme for more grunts, and the hand computer can be configured with up to 32 GB of RAM of the system (at 8000MHz).
For storage, Legion Go 2 can be equipped with an SSD PCIE 4.0 of 2TB, and a microSD slot allows you to expand to another 2TB of space.
Lenovo has also given the battery an update, so it is now an effort of 74Whr, compared to 49Whr in the original Legion Go, which is an impulse of 50% in capacity.
As noted, the design is still very similar, but there are some fresh turns, such as a digital fingerprint reader in the power button for fast biometric session.
In addition, there are Joysticks of Hall effect, and the Legion Trustrike controllers have adjusted to provide what Lenovo describes as “more ergonomic lines, a softer sensation and a smarter button design”, there are three programmable buttons that can be customized to their kindness.
The new Trostike controllers are compatible with the previous device, so if you want to use them with a first generation legion, you can do exactly that.
Lenovo has established the initial price at $ 1,049 in the US for the base model, with the hand for sale in October.
Analysis: More strength in its portable and battery duration
In general, here there is a new blunt hardware, and that OLED screen will undoubtedly increase the quality of the portable game experience that is offered, driven by that stronger CPU AMD.
Some people may be disappointed that Lenovo has eliminated the resolution of the screen, and I get from where they come from, but I suppose the screen will not disappoint.
Also remember that particularly with hand computers, frame speeds and battery life are important concerns, and falling to 1200p will help achieve a more fluid game and a better longevity of the battery. Speaking of the latter, we also have a much larger power package on board here, so, in general, that should be a great impulse in the power of permanence when it is played in motion.
