Rahim Yar Khan:
The armed dacoits launched an attack on Wednesday night on the M-5 highway near Bhong Sharif, opening fire against vehicles that pass, hurting several people and kidnap at least 10 passengers and members of the truck crew.
According to the police, a group of heavily armed dacoits ambushed the highway near Bhong, indiscriminately firing at each vehicle that crossed their way. Multiple cars, two passenger coaches and several trucks and trailers were criticized.
A woman and a child were between four people seriously injured and were transferred to the Sheikh Zayed Hospital, Rahim Yar Khan.
More than a dozen vehicles suffered serious damage, with many tires exploded during the assault.
The highway police temporarily suspended traffic near the areas of exchange and service of Guddu, since the security forces responded to the attack. The traffic was later restored in the day after a greater security implementation.
Police sources confirmed that the attackers fled to the areas of river “kacha” after the shot. Several trucks were abandoned on the highway, with their missing crew.
Ocular witnesses said the Dacoits kidnapped about 10 people at gunpoint.
The incident occurs days after Rahim Yar Khan police carried out attacks with unmanned aircraft attacks on the notorious Indhar gang in the Kacha area. After the operation, the leader of the Tanveer Indhar gangs had issued threats in a video message.
Police have registered a case at the Bhong Police Station on Nawazabad Checkpost Inharge complaint.
A search operation has been launched, although the authorities so far have refrained from issuing a detailed statement.
Regional Police officer Rai Babar Saeed has reached Rahim Yar Khan to supervise the situation.
Previously, on January 14, the armed gangsters of the Indhar gang launched a deadly attack against Basti Lashari in the area of Zahir Pir de Rahim Yar Khan, pointing to relatives of Osman Chandia, a police informant.
According to the reports, the attack, a revenge strike for the death of the notorious gangster Janu Indhar, left four people dead, including three teenagers.
Police said the Indhar gang carried out the assault to avenge the murder of its leader, Janu Indhar, who was eliminated in a undercover police operation in July 2021 with the help of Osman Chandia.
Indhar had been involved in the murders of more than 10 police officers and civilians, including a massive murder of nine family members at Rahim Yar Khan’s Mahi Chowk in 2021.
The deceased included Osman Chandia, Zaman Gul and three young cousins: Sajan, Madni and Guddu, who were brothers.
