- Chatgpt claims report dominates the AI market, with more than four chatbot world use quintos
- Perplexity reached its maximum point at 14% before sliding into a single digit
- Microsoft Copilot uses Office integration to ensure significant adoption growth
The global chatbot market of AI has quickly established itself around a dominant player: the OpenAi chatgpt, have affirmed new figures.
Statcounter data covered by July 2024 until August 2025 and based on more than 3.8 billion visits to the pages per month in more than 1.5 million websites have shown that Chatgpt currently has 80.92% of the market.
At its peak in April 2025, Chatgpt represented 84.2% of world use, and even when its participation fell in the subsequent months, it continued to have more than four fifths of the global market, far ahead of any competitor.
No Ai Chatbot is approaching
The closest challenger in the data set is perplexity, but his position seems less safe when seen in context.
Perplexity reached a maximum of 14.1% in March 2025, but slid to 8.0% in July before recovering slightly 9.0% in August.
This trajectory reflects a company with visibility of the brand and that struggles to maintain a constant adoption against the impulse of the Openai ecosystem.
Perplexity has tried to differentiate emphasizing the tools of AI, the responses and integration of live data based on research.
Even so, its market share in Declive suggests that the novelty alone may not be enough to maintain a competitive advantage against a rival with an overwhelming scale.
One of the most notable changes in 2025 has been the emergence of Microsoft Copilot.
From only 0.3% in March, Copilot quickly rose more than 5% in May and stabilized in the range of 4 to 5% during the summer.
This increase shows that Microsoft’s strategy to integrate the AI deeply in its office and Windows ecosystems is working.
Copilot remains far behind Chatgpt, but its constant climb positions it to rival perplexity for second place in the global market.
If the integration continues to expand and the user’s trust grows, it could become the most credible challenger out of Openai.
The other smaller rivals in the market fight for relevance.
Google Gemini, despite the vast reach of Google, has had between 1.9% and 3.3% of the market, showing a modest adoption.
Deepseek showed a late increase, reaching a maximum of 2.7% in August 2025, while Claude de Anthrope remained below 1.2%.
The numbers have a market that is dynamic but very concentrated. For now, ChatgPT is still dominant, perplexity is under pressure and Microsoft Copilot is updating.
