Lenovo has announced a series of new products that include new ThinkPad laptops and Thinkbook concepts as Vartiflex, also known as Project Pivo, which has a rotating screen.
The company also showed the ThinkVision P40WD-40, a new Ultrawide curved monitor aimed at creative and professional users.
With a 39.7 -inch panel and a 5120×2160 resolution, the screen provides more space to work, while adding features that place it somewhere between a monitor and an coupling center.
It is not true 5k
Lenovo describes the screen as 5K, although its 21: 9 aspect ratio means that it is not a standard 5K panel.
The width offers additional space to see applications next to the other, while the vertical resolution remains closer to a 4K screen.
The Business monitor covers 98% of the DCI-P3 color range and uses IPS Black to improve contrast and offer darker tones.
The screen has a 2500R curve, aimed at keeping the edges of the panel within the natural vision field of a user.
Lenovo says that the design is suitable for editing projects, comparing large spreadsheets or working in multitasking designs.
It can also attract users who watch panoramic screen video content on their work screens.
The Thinkvision P40WD-40 admits Thunderbolt 4 with single cable coupling. I would have liked to offer Thunderbolt 5, but I guess you can’t have everything.
Energy delivery reaches 140W under the PD3.1 standard, which is enough to run a laptop such as a MacBook Pro.
Additional ports include DisplayPort outputs for Daisy chain.
The monitor also integrates a 2.5G Ethernet port, which I really like. This is something that is still uncommon on the screens and could reduce the dependence of separate springs.
Lenovo has incorporated energy savings measures that go beyond simple brightness adjustments.
The panel admits an update range from 24Hz to 120Hz, and a feature developed by Lenovo called Displayport Power Saving can adapt the update rates dynamically without affecting the quality of the image.
The company says that the monitor uses up to 34% less energy than Energy Star 8.0 standards.
Thinkvision P40WD-40 will be available from October 2025, with an expected initial price of $ 2,182.
