Beijing promises a stronger future of Pakistan-China


Islamabad:

The Chinese ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong has reaffirmed Beijing’s commitment to accelerate the construction of “a community of China-Pakistan even closer with a shared future in the new era”, after the official visit of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to China from August 30 to September 4.

By invitation of President Xi Jinping, Prime Minister Shehbaz attended the 25th Meeting of the Council of State Chiefs of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese people’s resistance war against Japanese aggression and the world anti-fascist war.

During the visit, he held meetings with President XI and Prime Minister Li Qiang, where the two parties made in -depth discussions on bilateral ties and regional and international issues.

The visit concluded with the launch of the Action Plan to promote a community of China-Pakistan even closer with a future shared in the New Age (2025-2029).

Ambassador Jiang said the plan “is dedicated to building a community of China-Pakistan with a future shared with even stronger mutual confidence, narrower economic and commercial bonds, a deeper security cooperation and a more solid popular basis.”

He pointed out that the plan would serve as “the general guide, the road map and the construction plan to advance the strategic cooperation for all climate between our two countries currently and in the time that is coming.”

Ambassador Jiang emphasized that high -level trust remained the cornerstone of the ties. Citing President XI, he said: “China and Pakistan share a resistant bond, a fraternal bond and also a bond based on confidence and common values, an Ironclad friendship that was forged through turns and historical shifts and has become increasingly strongly stronger over time.”

He added that Prime Minister Shehbaz stressed that “the friendship of Pakistan-China Ironclad has rooted in the hearts of the more than 200 million Pakistani people, and that no force can shake this unwavering link.”

During the last year, high -level frequent visits, including those of Prime Minister Shehbaz in June, former Prime Minister Li Qiang in October and President Zardari in February, “allowed our two sides to reach important common understandings about the progress of strategic cooperation for all climate,” said Ambassador Jiang.

He also highlighted economic cooperation as a priority. Citing President XI, he said: “China supports Pakistan to maintain unity, focus on development and improve national force. China is ready to work with Pakistan to build the China-Pakistan economic corridor and improve the Chinese-Pakistan free trade agreement.”

He cited important milestones this year, including the launch of the New Gwadar International Airport, the operation of the donated seawater desalination plant in China, the production in the special economic zone of Rashakai and the PRSS-1 satellite launch of Pakistan from China.

Pakistani exports such as beef, seafood and fruits have also gained traction in Chinese markets, he said.
