  • Tharpark can face a 100 mm rain with winds of up to 70 km/h.
  • Low areas face the risk of flooding; The residents told him to stay inside.
  • Traffic police on alert; K-electric reports less than 60 feeders hit so far.

The weather authorities have warned about the heavy rains of the monsoon in Karachi on Tuesday, with the possibility of urban floods when strong winds and torrential downpours arrived in the coastal city in their tenth wet spell.

The Department of Meteorology of Pakistan (PMD) has stated that the city can expect moderate to strong showers from Tuesday morning until late at night.

The weather forecast warned that the “very heavy downpours” would probably hit Karachi today, since a powerful monozonic system maintains its intensity as a deep depression on the earth, focused on Tharparkar.

PMD spokesman said the system would pass near Karachi on Tuesday, warning that the situation in the city “can remain severe”, with strong winds of 60 to 70 kilometers per hour probably during the spell.

“This system is producing intense rain and could deliver more than 100 millimeters of rain in Karachi throughout the spell,” said Anjum Nazir of PMD, warning urban floods due to the poor infrastructure of the city.

The low areas could be flooded, and citizens have been urged to avoid weak infrastructure and remain inside during heavy rains.

In other parts of Sindh, the weather department recorded up to 80 millimeters of rain in the last spell.

Karachi’s abused drain system cannot endure much, and memories of flooded streets and stranded travelers are still fresh.

However, the authorities are trying to sound calm since the Traffic Police says that their officers are in the field to guarantee a soft flow of vehicles.

“We are active in all cities to avoid jams,” said Dig Traffic, adding that the measures were taken on the instructions of the main minister. The information department also said that traffic is normally moved throughout the city.

Even so, the risk is heavy when the K-Electric, which executes the city’s energy supply, has been alerted. His spokesman said that of more than 2,100 feeders, less than 60 were affected in recent rains. In some low areas and places with illegal connections, energy was cut as caution.

For now, Karachi traffic remains under control, and electricity is mostly stable. But the real test will begin once the first heavy spell arrives. The city expects, hoping that you will not drown once more.

The Met Office said that intermittent heavy showers are expected with thunderstorms and winding winds in Karachi, Hyderabad, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Jamshor, Thatta, Badin, Shaheed Benazirabad and other districts until September 10.

The rains activate school closures, accidents in all Sindh

Hyderabad quickly gave way to constant rain at night between Monday and Tuesday, which forced the authorities to announce the closure of schools throughout the district.

The stop and go showers have already interrupted daily life.

Climate officials say there is more rain on the way, while the Disaster Management Authority has advised people to remain cautious.

But it was Matiari in Sindh, where the weather became dangerous. The district also closed its schools, but the biggest concern was road safety.

Police said a trailer crashed into a path along the national road, hurting its driver.

A separate accident near New Saeedabad in Hala left three injured motorcyclists. In total, four people were transferred to the hospital after rain -related setbacks.

The rain was also poured into Kashmir Azad, with fresh showers reported in Dhirkot and parts of the Bagh district.
