The confrontation between the New England patriots And Bill Belichick took another turn on Monday when chief coach Mike Vrabel said the former NFL coach is welcome at the team’s facilities, despite Belichick’s previous comments that indicate otherwise.
Vrabel’s comments occur days after Belichick confirmed the reports that the Patriots explorers were forbidden to have access to the North Carolina University program.

But according to Vratabel, the door has always been open for the legendary coach.
“Nothing surprises me,” Vrabel said during his weekly appearance in Weei radio Monday. “I mean, he returned to, that I know, the Tom ceremony.”
Vratabel made reference to the appearance of Belichick at the Gillette stadium in June 2024 when Tom Brady was included in the team’s hall.

“I suppose it is welcome again based on the fact that he was there. Then, I will simply go for that. From his departure as a chief coach here, he has returned and I will leave it that way.”
Belichick and the Patriots separated after the 2023 season, and both called the friendly decision, but the reports at the time speculated that the division was anything but harmonious. Then, last week, the owner of the Patriots, Robert Kraft, said Belichick would get his own statue in front of the Gillette stadium.

“When that great efficiency of 20 years ended, it was always my intention to commission a statue for both Tommy and Bill when their respective races ended, playing and training. When Bill’s coach’s career ends, we hope we sit with him and have a statue to be right next to Tommy.” Kraft told CBS News.
It is not clear what happened in recent weeks that led to the apparent bad blood between Belichick and the Patriots organization.
