Long before a series of bold movements landed the Golden State Warriors Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and even Kevin Durant, and a sniper named Stephen Curry, once seen as a risk due to their ankle problems: the franchise was known to fall short instead of winning championships.

From 2015 to 2022, Curry and Company raised the coveted Trophy of the Larry O’Brien championship four times and consolidated the franchise as the most recent dynasty of the NBA.

Other key taxpayers: Andre Iguodala, Kevon Looney, Andrew Wiggins and Zaza Pachulia played important roles in different points of the Warriors race. Pachulia, who retired from the NBA after the 2019 season, recently reflected on her time with a Golden State uniform.

Pachulia serves as one of the company’s ambassadors and is an investor. Atlanta Hawks star brings Young and four times WNBA champion, Sue Bird, have also made investments.

“Being in the 16 -year League (but) being part of the Warriors was different. First practice, you enter the gym and you see so much talent there … all these boys, Steph (Curry), Klay (Thompson), KD (Kevin Durant), Draymond (Green) in the years of their careers. It is also worth it. It is worth it. Team, and in the best years, and in the best years, and the best, the other boys, and the other boys, the team, and the team, and the team, and the best rooms, and the best passengers, and the best.

As reported, ending another new format for this season’s All-Star

The Warriors experienced limited success before Curry settled, and Steve Kerr assumed the position of team chief coach in 2014. During the NBA playoffs of 2007, “we believe” he achieved a shocking surprise by eliminating the Dallas Mavericks in the first round. The team failed in the semifinals of the West Conference and could not qualify for the postseason the following year.

Pachulia accredited Bob Meyers, who served as general manager of the Warriors from 2012 until he resigned in 2023, and others for making key decisions of the player’s staff to help the team move in the right direction.

“Obviously, Steve Kerr and Bob Meyers and everyone did a great job by having initial conversations what the expectations were. In that way there were no surprises,” Pachulia said. “Of course, things will change throughout the season.”

“All (spoken) about the culture of the warriors and I give the credit to Steve (Kerr), Bob (Meyers) and Steph (Curry), those three types definitely establish the pattern.”

“That was the best team ever gathered in my opinion.” Pachulia added. “Only the fact that we were compared to the 90’s bulls is a great fulfillment.”

It could be said that it was a devastating defeat against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2016 NBA finals so that the dynasty of the warriors reaches its peak. Golden State won a NBA record 73 regular seasonal games, but could not overcome LeBron James and the cavs in game 7 of the finals of that year.

But the Warriors were able to add another main talent, to their list in the 2016 low season.

Durant, the MVP of the 2014 League and four times score champion, gave Golden State an impressive collection of shooting skills. Durant won consecutive titles with the Warriors in 2017 and 2018, receiving MVP honors from the NBA finals in both years.

Pachulia left the Warriors in 2018 and spent their last NBA season with the Detroit Pistons. Thompson left the Warriors after the 2023-24 campaign and signed with the Dallas Mavericks. Curry and green remain in the state of gold. After being short of the postseason 2023-24 and after the Timberwolves of Minnesota eliminated the Warriors out of the containment of playoffs last May, many questioned whether the Warriors window had finally closed.

Curry pushed back against that idea.

“I mean, obviously, defining a dynasty can have many different looks,” he told ESPN in July. “People thought this had ended in 2019 … but 2022 was an incredible championship because we challenged the chances … that is, 11 years of almost 12 years of relevance in the championship built around a certain nucleus.

“I don’t think so [it will be replicated] Just because it is very difficult to keep things together in this league. Much more players movement. I, Klay and Draymond, we complement each other very well for so long. We all brought something different from the table, so we’ll see. The records are intended to break. The dynasties come all the different forms within us, so we will see. “

Pachulia said that the culture that exists within the Warriors costume will remain unwavering while Curry uses a Golden State uniform.

“No one can change it,” Pachulia said when asked if the new faces could enter the Warriors costumes and alter the team’s culture. “As for Steph (Curry), he is in the locker room, he is on the court, there is the face of this franchise, no one can, nobody will. Because he has a lot of respect, not only of his teammates, but also of his opponents. It is so deep that it is so strong that no one can break it (or) try to break it …”

Pachulia remains involved with the Warriors organization through its role as a team’s basketball operations consultant. The Warriors open the 2025-26 season on October 21 in Los Angeles against the Lakers.
