Pakistan, Hong Kong agrees on legal cooperation

Pakistan and Hong Kong signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to improve cooperation in legal matters, during the belt summit and the road held in Hong Kong on Wednesday.

The agreement was signed by the Federal Secretary of Law Raja Naeem Akbar and the Secretary of Justice of Hong Kong.

According to the MOU, both parties agreed to cooperate in legal matters and the development of capacities, with Hong Kong ready to provide training to Pakistan in arbitration and alternative resolution of disputes. The association will also extend to digital governance and regulation of virtual assets.

“This agreement reflects legal reforms and institutional improvement,” said Raja Naeem Akbar after the signature ceremony.

The authorities said that the development marks the beginning of a new phase of legal and regulatory cooperation between Pakistan and Hong Kong.

Pakistan and China signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) about cooperation in the development of the breeding and industrialization of corn at the end of last week.
