An American citizen of Pakistani origin has approached the Superior Court of Islamabad (IHC) who seeks help to track her husband and two minor children, who were supposedly taken to Pakistan instead of being taken by Umrah.
The petitioner, Ghulam Ghausia Akhunzada, told the court that he married Taxila resident, Muhammad Owais Tariq, in January 2014. After their marriage, Tariq was established in the United States, where the couple had two children: Arham, 8, and Haider, 5.
She declared that her husband took the passports of the children under the pretext of performing Umrah, but instead traveled to Pakistan without her consent.
“My husband has multiple directions in Pakistan. I looked for him and the children, but I could not track them,” he said, adding that a local court in the United States had already ruled in his favor.
The petitioner asked the court to order the authorities to locate his husband and order her to deliver the custody of the children. During the hearing, the judge of IHC, Muhammad Asif, ordered the general director of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency to track Tariq and submit a full report on Thursday.
