The Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) continued its sit-ins in various parts of Karachi on Tuesday, marking the eighth consecutive day of protests against the Parachinar crisis, despite repeated warnings from the government.

However, the number of protest sites has been significantly reduced, from 13 to just four in the morning.

While disruptions continue, protests have caused significant inconvenience to commuters, with the business and working classes facing challenges due to prolonged road closures.

In response to the ongoing protests, several key routes in the city were closed or partially blocked.

Authorities had been slow to clear affected roads, resulting in significant financial losses as people struggled to travel freely.

Open routes:

The road from Jauhar Chowrangi to Jauhar Mor has been cleared and is open for vehicular traffic.

Protests at Five Star Chowrangi and Shamsuddin Azeemi Road have been cancelled.

Surjani Town, Ancholi and Golimar Chowrangi have been cancelled, making these roads accessible to commuters.

Closed routes:

The main MA Jinnah road (Capri side), near Numaish, remains closed to traffic.

Alternative route: Traffic was diverted from Capri to Soldier Bazaar and further towards Saddar Dawakhana.

Kamran Chowrangi remains completely closed for traffic.

Alternative route: Traffic was diverted from Mausamiat to University Road and Manwar Chowrangi towards interior areas.

Malir District

Abul Hasan Isphahani road near Superhighway and Abbas town is closed from both sides.

Alternative route: Traffic was diverted from Paradise Bakery to Fariya Chowk and inner lanes, and at Ranger Cut towards Service Road and Punjab Adda.

Central District

University Road near Metro Mall towards NIPA remains closed.

Alternative Route: Traffic is diverted to inland areas.

Travelers are urged to be patient and avoid protest sites. For more information and updates, you can contact the Traffic Helpline at 1915.
