Imran, wife seeks an early audience of acquittal statements

Islamabad:

The founder of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, and his wife, Bushra Bibi, requested the Superior Court of Islamabad (IHC), looking for an early hearing of his declaration of acquittal in the Toshakhana-II case.

The petition, presented through the lawyers Salman Safdar and Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry, also asks the court to order the Court of First Instance to stop the procedures until a decision is made on the declaration of acquittal.

According to the petition, the Court of First Instance had dismissed its declaration of acquittal in November 2024, a decision that was challenged on January 21, 2025. The last hearing on the matter took place on April 25, 2025, but since then the statement has not been fixed for the hearing.
