Islamabad:
Pakistan has questioned Israel’s commitment to La Paz in the Middle East when the UN Security Council condemned the recent strikes of the Jewish state over the capital of Qatar Doha, with Islamabad making it clear that he was totally able to defend himself against any external threat.
Pakistan also responded after the Zionist State defended his attacks by Doha, rejecting acute condemnation on Thursday by most members of the UN Security Council of his aggression against Qatar while claiming that US action against Osama Bin Laden had not caused criticism.
This triggered an achadered exchange between the two adversaries. Pakistan does not recognize Israel and is at the forefront of advocating a free Palestinian state in international forums.
The exchange took place during the debate of the Security Council on the situation in the Middle East, convened by Pakistan, Algeria and Somalia, under the presidency of South Korea.
“It is unacceptable, in fact, ridiculous, for an aggressor, an occupant, a serial offender of the UN Charter and International Law, which is Israel, abusing this chamber and disrespecting the holiness of this council,” the ambassador to Iftikhar Ahmad, the permanent representative of Pakistan to the UN, said in his right to respond.
“When pointing to others, statements without foundation, mainly aimed at masking their own illegal actions and violations of international law,” he told the Council of 15 members.
Pakistan also questioned whether the release of hostages held by Hamas was a priority for Israel. “It is evident that Israel, the occupation power, is determined to do everything to undermine and fly all the possibilities of peace,” said Ambassador Ahmad to the Council.
In his defense of his “illegal and not provoked” attack, Israeli ambassador Danny Dannon remained challenging, saying that there was no sanctuary for terrorists, not in Gaza, not in Tehran, not in Doha.
“There is no immunity for terrorists. History will not be kind to accomplices. Or Qatar condemns Hamas, expels Hamas and leads Hamas to Justice, or Israel Will,” he warned.
In a hard replica, Ambassador Ahmad said: ” [Israel] He is an occupant who does not listen to anyone; That does not pay attention to any advice, even of his friends, if any left; That refutes, and not only refutes, threatens the members of the international community, international media, international human rights and humanitarian organizations, do not listen to the ICJ or CPI, and threatens the UN and their senior officials; And he does it with impunity.
“Deepened by their apologists, which again and again accept their illegal actions and their challenge of the international community. And like all the occupants, despite being the aggressor, he pretends and plays the victim, but today he is totally exposed.”
On the unrelated incident of Bin Laden and the deceptive comments of the Israeli envoy regarding Pakistan, Ambassador Ahmad said he did it in an effort to justify his own illegal actions and violations of international law.
In fact, he rejected the false analogy. “Pakistan’s position on that incident has been clearly declared and is publicly available,” said Pakistani envoy, added: “The international community is very aware of the role and sacrifices of the Pakistan community in the struggle of the international community against terrorism.
“The entire world, including our partners, acknowledges that Al Qaeda was decimated to a large extent due to the anti -terrorist efforts of Pakistan. And we continue committed to this global and collective effort.
“That is, in fact, the author of the worst type of state terrorism that we are witnessing in Gaza, and in fact, in the Palestinian territories occupied for decades,” said the Pakistani envoy.
“For any way of interpreting these statements in this Council, the occupation power must return and carefully read the declaration issued by the Security Council today.”
In Islamabad, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Friday that Pakistan was closely following the developments in the Middle East and made it clear that he was completely able to defend himself against any external threat.
In his weekly news conference, the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shafqat Ali Khan, was asked if Pakistan was concerned about the way Israel was expanding his military maneuvers, such as throwing strikes in Qatar.
Not explicitly mentioning Israel, he replied: “What is happening at this time in the Middle East, which is our immediate neighborhood, we follow it very closely. But let me be absolutely clear, Pakistan is totally able to defend himself from any external threat.”
“Pakistan remains a responsible nuclear state and a regional peace defender and stability. However, any misfortune or threat to Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity will find a resolved response,” he warned.
Ambassador Khan denounced what he called “insinuations of an irresponsible dishonest state,” accusing Israel to commit “the worst type of state terrorism” in Gaza and in all the Palestinian territories occupied for decades. He also emphasized that Pakistan rejects any “false analogy”, echoing the position taken by Qatar in the Council.
He urged the Israeli delegation to carefully read the last statement of the Security Council, which he described as “unanimously adopted”, although he added that “it should have been stronger.”
The spokesman said that the statements issued by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Vice Prime Minister Ishaq Dar were very clear that repeated Israeli attacks against sovereign states in the region were a serious concern, not only for the Muslim Ummah but also for the most brevitary international community.
“These provocations represent a dangerous pattern that threatens regional peace and security. The problem has been actively addressed within the IIC, whose member states have strongly condemned the aggression and expressed full solidarity with the affected countries, more recently, Qatar.”
The spokesman said that an extraordinary Islamic Arab Summit in Doha on September 15 to deliberate in a joint response had also been called.
