- Apple has been renewed Base For the fourth season
- The filming will begin in the next installment of the series in early 2026
- We do not know if the original plan of eight stations of science fiction is still followed
Apple has officially renewed Base For a fourth season.
The announcement came on the same date (September 12) as Base The final episode of season 3 made its debut on Apple TV+, and fans can finally breathe a relief about the future of science fiction epic after months of radio silence.
While the February reports suggested that Base Season 4 was already in development, Apple had not given any indication that this was the case. In fact, there was so much secret around the possible return of the spatial opera that their cast was not aware that Apple executives had been revealed by a fourth season.
Talking to me at the end of June before the arrival of season 3, Stars Lou Llobell and Jared Harris said they didn’t know if Base I would get a fourth season. That was also the case when I spoke with Llobell and another member of the cast of season 3, Tomas Lemarquis, in early September, and the couple admitted that they still had no idea if they had no idea if Base Season 4 would see daylight.
Fortunately, Apple’s entertainment division has now put an end to all speculation.
When commenting on the renewal of the program, Apple’s head of programming, Michael Chernis, said: “It has been fantastic to see Base Become a global phenomenon, with fans tuning from every corner of the world. With each new season, the emotion around this epic of pioneer science fiction continues to build due to the bold narration of stories and collective art of this extraordinarily talented and creative team. We are excited to continue exploring this universe together in the fourth season. “
The confirmation that one of the best Apple TV+ programs will return is not the only announcement with respect to the program. Apple also revealed that Ian Goldberg and David Kob will share Copchowrunning duties in season 4, with the couple replacing co -creator David S Goyer in BaseThe creative rudder. Despite going back from her showrunning duties last February, Goyer is still part of the executive producing team of the series.
“There are no series like Base And we feel lucky and honest to take the torch as co -star in the fourth season, “Goldberg and Kob said.” We hope to continue with the epic, emotional and narrated that defined the first three seasons of the show, and work with some of the most talented and passionate creative partners in the business. “
The filming must begin in Base Season 4 at the beginning of 2026, which gives me the hope that the next delivery of Apple TV TV TV could make its reverence in one of the best transmission services in the world in 2027. The fact that Apple does not announce that it is the last season of the program suggests that a fifth season could be green at some point.
While BaseThe immediate future is safe, I am not yet convinced that it reaches its original objective of several seasons.
Before BaseThe debut season in September 2021, Goyer revealed that he had launched an eight seasons plan to Apple. However, in a Q&A published on its own website on August, Goyer implied that this scheme was no longer being fulfilled. “I don’t think the new team is adhering to any of those ideas,” he wrote. “They are drawing their own way and they do it, as they should.”
What does that mean to BaseThe scheme of eight stations? It is possible that Goldberg, Kob and Company have only modified the part of the Goyer Plan based on history. In my opinion, however, the most likely stage is that Goyer’s eight season Base It only ends up working for five seasons.
We will not know with certainty until Apple provides another important update on the future of the program.
