The Boxing of Italian women, Angela Carini, claimed that she has suffered online abuses after her infamous defeat against the Imane Khelif of Algeria at the Paris Olympic Games last summer.
Carini left his Olympic combat against Khelif after only 46 seconds, since the images of Algerian’s blows against Carini shook viewers around the world. Khelif, who previously failed in the sexual eligibility tests for another international competition, won gold.
The incident caused a global reaction from defenders to protect women’s sports, especially after Carini resigned from his party and cried journalists about the pain he felt about Khelif’s blows.

On Thursday, Carini posted a video on Instagram with captures of abuse messages that he has received on social networks, some begging him not to return to the Olympic Games, others called her “coward” and “the shame of the Italian team”, and a voiceover of the 26 -year -old woman explaining how she felt.
“Have you ever wondered how difficult it was for me to face these words? What had to endure and endure day after day? What had to face my silence, while preserving my health from a stupid social network, of people who speak and say words without thinking twice?” Carini said. “Because for them it is just a prayer, it’s just a word, it’s just fun, you just want to follow the crowd.”
Carini’s decision to give up the fight fed a discussion far beyond Paris about whether Khelif should have competed, with President Donald Trump and the Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni speaking.
She said the incident has “destroyed” his career.
“For many it is easy to forget the past, but for me it was not,” said Carini in his video. “That past marked my life. That past that left injuries inside me that tried to heal day after day, but as an infected wound, bleeds and hurts.
“That past that changed and destroyed my career, built year after year with sacrifices, dedication, tenacity and a lot of passion … that race that is underestimated and belittled by those who preferred to laugh for a few moments, preferred to throw the stone.”

After Paris, Carini said he closed “in silence” with his family and “tried to rebuild [herself] In small pieces. “
Carini returned to the ring in December, winning his eighth Italian title and gold in the Boxing World Cup in Poland.
“Leaving aside all the disappointment, I returned to that ring, reconfirming as Italian champion and bringing medals from important international tournaments,” Carini said. “Back to that ring was a difficult challenge.”
“These words of mine will not change the world. I will not make people become more friendly. But at least I invite everyone to reflect … a word, a gesture, a command can hurt and destroy a person.”
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) defended the results of the Paris Games, stating that Khelif and another boxer facing gender eligibility concerns were victims of a “sudden and arbitrary decision by the IBA.” Khelif has also publicly denied having been transgender.
The president of the International Boxing Association (IBA), Umar Kremlev, demanded that Khelif’s Olympic gold medal was stripped of an effort to achieve “transparency and openness.” Khelif was previously disqualified from the way because it was not a gender eligibility test. Kremlev said the results of unpublished DNA tests showed that Khelif had XY chromosomes.

World Boxing, the International Government Body for Boxing Sports, announced a new policy in August that introduces mandatory sexual evidence to ensure that only women compete in the women’s category. Khelif has appealed the new policy that will keep the athlete outside any competition waiting for the results of the genetic tests.
Triumph He previously said that there will be a “solid form of evidence” when asked about the possible genetic tests for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games at a press conference on August 5.
The new president of the IOC, Kirsty Coventry, has started a working group to analyze gender eligibility problems.
